Raid 5 Data Recovery

Raid stands for redundant array of inexpensive disk, and Raid5 is a level which consists of five dynamic discs. The data is distributed equally on every disc. Raid5 works with the help of adapters. Calculations are done one each disc. Blocks are written on every Raid 5 disc which creates parity blocks within the similar stripe. In every block there are many sectors which work side by side. Every disc has an arrangement of these blocks, and this arrangement is called "stripe".

Either the array is broken or intact, the data can be recovered from both. If the logical structure of a disc is damaged, we call it a logical damage of that disc only. A damaged or deleted file from a Raid 5 array can be recovered very easily. For this purpose, software is used, but there is one condition of recovery that the array should be intact.

If the arrange is not intact and broken then still the data can be recovered by using a special software. This special software treats the different discs as a single array. Through parity information the data of the damaged disc is reconstructed. After the reconstruction of the array from the software, data is recovered. After that, the disc is scanned and data is recovered from the file system.

Data Recovery iRocoder (DIY) software is used to recover the data from Raid5. The software performs the same procedure to recover the data as described above. All discs are scanned in the process so this procedure takes a lot of time. The lengthy procedure is just because of the broken array; otherwise, simple software can be used to recover data from a Raid5.

Raid 5 is a great data recovery disc; suppose on a Raid5 array, one disk is missing, we choose all the elements of the array to reconstruct this missing disc. This reconstruction of the missing disc is done with the help of Raid5 parity data through automation.
